I was always interested in languages and culture. It started with Egypt, Mesopotamia, and the Americas. Soon, I started reading about hill tribes and their dwindling numbers. I had piles of history books, but they barely ever touched on Thai history and diversity.  I began to look for local hill tribes and ethinic groups that are facing the issues of assimilation and decay. This led me to a, relatively unknown, village in the clouds: Baan Ba Gum, the home of the Luwa-Prai. Seeing their slow decay,I wanted to create a forum that could collect and document their culture before it assimilates with modern day society. Thus FADING CULTURES was born.
